CONTROLLER 

We are looking for a Controller in the Netherlands to join our team.  

This is a perfect role if you are looking to oversee both financial control and business control functions. With a specific focus on managing the results of hotel locations. This role requires a strategic thinker who can contribute to the overall success of the company by ensuring financial integrity and providing valuable insights for informed decision-making.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Controller, you will be responsible for: 

Financial Control: 

  • Month-end closing  
  • Oversee the month-end closing process, ensuring accuracy and timelines 
  • Verify and reconcile general ledger accounts, with a specific focus on accrual accounts 
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to resolve discrepancies and issues 
  • Budget and forecasting 
  • Support with the annual budgeting process 
  • Support and coordinate the periodic forecast process 
  • Financial Reporting 
  • Support with monthly financial reports for management and external stakeholders 
  • Internal controls  
  • Conduct periodic internal audits to identify and address potential risks 
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards 

Business Control: 

  • Performance Metrics 
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPI’s) specific to hotel locations to assess business performance. 
  • Collaborate with hotel managers to establish and track performance benchmarks.  
  • Budget and cost control operational 
  • Support with the annual budgeting process for operation. 
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to support financial decision-making of operation. 
  • Implement cost control measures at the hotel location 
  • Analyse cost structures and identify opportunities for cost savings. 
  • Support and coordinate the monthly forecast with operations  
  • Analyse the results of hotel locations to identify areas for improvement and efficiency. 
  • Provide recommendations to enhance overall business processes at the hotel level.  
  • Analyse cost structures and identify opportunities for cost savings with operations.  
  • Monthly reporting group 
  • Implement cost control measures at the hotel level to ensure efficient resource utilization. 
  • Analyse cost structures and identify opportunities for cost savings. 

 

NL LOCATION NOTE:

You have to be currently based in the Netherlands, without visa requirements. We can’t sponsor or relocate someone for this position. Our office location is in Amsterdam. 

It’s the broadest Controller role possible, and a huge learning opportunity if you are interested in all aspects of this field.  

 

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO BRING

  • Experience in budget management and cost monitoring. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA designation is a plus. 
  • 5 years of experience in financial control, with a focus on both accounting and business analysis. 
  • Proven experience in preparing financial statements, managing internal controls, and leading month-end closing activities. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
